This is the ONLY glass cutting method that cuts bottles perfect every time. A flaming string is not good. A blow torch is a BAD IDEA. Glass hammer will not work well. www.greenpowerscience.com I talked to a few people who have cut 1000′s of bottles, they say “you cannot get a perfect cut, top will always be ruined” Not true. Perfect bottle cutting 95% of the time. Glass Bottle Recycling. Reduce Reuse Recycle. Make glasses from bottles. Glass Bottleneck Guitar Slides. DIY Bottleneck, Slide & Lap-Style guitarist.

Cool video! It’s a neat way to keep attractive wine bottles and make them useful too (recycle). I was wondering about using a wet tile saw, I used it to cut glass tiles with no problem, depending on the feed rate, little to no flaring/chipping of the edges. You can find them at reno centers like Home Depot etc. $30-60 +/- and they have a fence for a guide, just a thought..

I like what I saw, and as usual you do a nice, easy explaination: However, I may be incorrect, but that last item, where you ‘apply pressure’ to stop the leaking, well, I believe it is due to you making a pressure stop. Put a cork in that top and probably would stop the atmospheric pressure from forcing out the water. NOT the hand pressure per sey.

  15. GREENPOWERSCIENCE says:

@sonomarik That is true but they actually hold water without covering the opening. The glass, while a near perfect surface does have a small ridge or groove that is sanded away for a drinking glass, since the opposite piece is not damaged, it fits like a puzzle. The “Absolute Vodka” Bottle actually holds air and or a vacuum. Depends on the cut.

Excellent! Glue the top of the bottle in so the neck is inside the bottle, add a little jam inside, you have a wasp trap! LOL
