DuPont Solar Technology Helps Power a Sustainable City
www2.dupont.com Title: City of Science, City of Hope While our world holds many high hopes for solar energy, comprehensive city-sized applications remain few and far between. Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s stunning new sustainable development, is a living laboratory dedicated to proving the viability of green technologies at a citywide level. The city looked to Suntech to provide this photovoltaic technology. When it came to manufacturing the thousands of panels required for the landmark project, Suntech turned to DuPont to deliver a number of crucial components to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. This collaboration is already yielding results—Masdar is currently consuming only 40% of the energy they are generating. NOURA AL DHAHERI PHD STUDENT, MASDAR INSTITUTE After having a son, I began to be more concerned about his future. The way we live now, burning the fossil fuel, we need to step up and do something about it. TITLE ABU DHABI MAIN TITLE CITY OF SCIENCE, CITY OF HOPE ALAN FROST DIRECTOR, MASDAR CITY Masdar, for me, is like no other project in the world. The idea of the city itself was to be carbon neutral. The architecture is based on all Arabic cities. The narrow streets are very important to keep out the sun during the day. At the moment, we’re testing a personal rapid transport—that’s a driverless electric vehicle and it’s powered from our solar farm. NOURA AL DHAHERI We’re kind of living in our laboratory, and we know that, but we are happy because this is what …

DIY Passive Solar Water Heater- Vol. 2
For more info please visit diysolarheating.blogspot.com and if you want to do a miniature DIY solar try one with portable DIY solar water heater at www.youtube.com Highly illustrative Barrel Plastic solar our latest entry www.youtube.com www.youtube.com with plastic barrel … in case if You want to build one out of it our entry to GE ecomagination Powering Your Home challenge.ecomagination.com Easiest passive solar heater, This DIY Solar Water Heater can be done by anyone at home, Cheapest Solar and Easiest Solar ,as easy as joining two ends of pipe, and presto! Our basic idea of putting this innovative Solar Water Heater on YouTube is to make people understand the simplest way to store the heat energy of the sun for everyday use. Everyone knows if one puts anything under the sun, it starts getting hot slowly irrespective of the ambient temperature. It can be freezing cold or extremely hot, the free energy of the sun goes wasted unless it is tapped and stored. There are many different ways to tap the solar energy for heating mainly for domestic use, the very first step to harness the free energy. The normal solar panel a regular house hold item of the urban areas are far too complicated if one starts building on his own, He shall end up going to the vendor as it requires a mini workshop setup, with welding machines and other piping accessories tools. The vacuum tube solar is an amazing product though, but it requires even bigger investment for simple assembly itself at …

Home Solar Power System (Photovoltaic System).flv
adf.ly q.gs Solar power system is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaics convert light into electric current using the photoelectric effect. A typical home solar power system comprises a solar panel, solar controller, batteries, DC loads, DC-AC solar inverter, AC loads, and can connect with the power-grid. In the daytime, the solar panel collects the solar energy which is converted to electric energy, solar controller controls the energy by MPPT technology to drive the solar inverter and DC loads, and charges the batteries as floating charge.
Israeli Solar Power: Renewable Light To The Nations
A cutting edge Israeli company demonstrates the reality of solar power on a large scale. Yishai Fleisher, JewishPress.com Managing Editor, visits Arava Power in Kibbutz Ketura 50 km north of Eilat in Southern Israel. He interviews Yosef Abramowitz (President of Arava Power). Arava Power has built Israel’s first commercial solar field which is also the first solar power farm array in the Middle East. This solar field will soon be ramping up to a gigantic 40 megawatts of power which will meet a full third of the power needs of the city of Eilat. Eilat uses 120 megawatts at peak energy (all air conditioners on in every house and every hotel). Music by RebbeSoul: rebbesoul.com
