The batteries im planning to use are forklift deep cycle lead acid cells (Very Large), in my opinion they will be the best for my use (Residential) for the cost and maintainance required, I have am also experimenting with 4' (4 Foot Diameter) permanent magnet core wind turbines, they are fully custom made, I am very lucky to have my own machine shop and have many future plans that are not commercial based but I am driven with my passion of engineering and renewable energy sources.

I have ordered enough cells to build 24 70 watt (approx) panels. I purchased all materials in 2007 for around $1500 US. I am a procrastinator and have only built three of them they produce (real #'s) about 73 watts per panel, I am very obsessed with perfection but it has paid off with the cells having very close power production capabilities. I purchased two 11500 Watt inverters for my home at the same time and paid less than $1000 for them.

yeaaaaaaaah i thing you may be right in one sence man , i just though of something, you will need an inverter to use the energy harvested with the solar panel on any machines that are not 12v compatible, such as heaters ,microwaves, electric cookers...etc also to tie the system back to national grid ,note you get paid from energy suppliers when your ammeter start to turn anticlockwise meaning you selling energy, but the tax man will hang you,

i though you only need the inverter to connect the solar system to your electricity supply box ,, i don't thing you need an inverter to use the system to power up say 10bulbs, you will need an control box but not the inverter

Sorry for any misunderstanding.
My solar panels are not homemade, but are store bought.
My windmills are home made, using old tape drive motors and aluminium flats and pipes.
My farm is not connected to the grid, as it's an expensive thing to do. Instead, I work on ways of mananging without certain of the conveniences offered by electricity.
Life can be fun when you free yourself from the national grid :) .

why not just give a parts list and the details Vstatv? Why do people have to message you. I know enough about electronics to make it work if someone would just say what parts we need and instructions on hooking it up and how to get the electric company to collaborate.

Ok 15yrs you say. pretty strange since they just came out with this a few yrs ago no? Ok well i'll look into it more. A better man would provide the simple information rather than make people buy an affiliate book which may or may not provide enough information. I also read that power companies will not buy your electric if you build your own because it's not industry rated so you will run into conflicts with the power companies. In order to beat the oil companies we have 2 work together.

Yes, cars are a scam too.
No one tells us that we have to keep 'updating' the petrol in the tank ;) .

My 'scam' solar electric system has kept me off the grid for the past 15 years.

No power bills.

Invertors are much cheaper than you think, so it's worth looking into this.

Youtube is full of videos that show you how to set it up, so you can manage without those $50.00 books :) .

I've heard this is a complete scam and inorder to use them you need an inverter which cost 1000s of dollars. If it is so easy to do why are people trying to sell $50.00 books on these and not disclosing how this is actually done. 1000s of people would tell you how this is done if it was so easy to do. In allmost every one of these youtube videos there's an affiliate link to buy a 50.00 dollar book and none of them tell you what materials you need or show you how it is done.
