a “solar cell” is photovoltaic cell
a “solar panel” are a lot of solar cells connected. that was the point of this video, building a solar panel, meaning connecting solar cells between them.

what you are referring to as “solar panel” is a solar thermal collector.

why didnt they show how they get the sun back out of the box? and what do they use it for?

  3. przemas707 says:

I wonder why this productiont is not fully automated ? Production of one pv panel should take 1 min i think. Is there anywere on the World automated producrion of pv panels ???

  4. ginnidorka says:

I dont know if you have taken engineering but those tasks they show being done require a great deal of dexterity. It is not possible to achieve it with automated machines because the parts are flexible and difficult to orient properly.

  5. buildSOLARPANEL says:

one billionth of the suns solar power hits the Earth and every square meter of sun shine than hits that square meter an hour is more than enough to run all of the humans electrical needs

  6. liiaaammmm says:

check out “how it works” for that lol

  7. quarky2001 says:

They each require 1 hour of work, and they make six a day??? Unless that’s the only person who works there, they should take a look at their hiring policy.

  8. SolarPanelGuide says:

Solar panels are becoming more and more popular. The worldwide demand for Solar Energy is currently greater than supply.

I hate the way he pronounces “Solder”. It’s pronounced, “Sodder”, even though it’s spelt, “Solder”

  10. azurelikeit1 says:

It begs the question why isn’t every house equipt with solar panels, idk, just so we could all have heating for free? Call me crazy but even if it cost alot to manufacture-wouldn’t it pay for itself as renewable energy???

  11. Noahedwinbeach2 says:

no currently systems are so expensive the return on investment is well over 10 years atleast. In my area its about 20 years or more. Therefore you are breaking even really. The only way to do this is to make this stuff yourself.

    Very interesting vid

    this guy sucks

  14. yazpaul says:

how much voltage does it produce on that size?? and wattage??

  15. specialkid2113 says:

    GREAT video!!!
I’m using it in a project that I have.

  16. thegurutrader says:

wrong. its pronounced “SOUL DA” , unless you are an inbred american or canadian.

  17. thegurutrader says:

    my thoughts exactly

  18. quarky2001 says:

Hey now, be nice. Don’t roll us in with the Americans! We still spell things the British way. We’re just england with colder beer, better dentists, and better hockey.

  21. Heighfen says:

how do you make the “modules”?

  22. xcrecife says:

Nice video. Does anyone tell me what type of laminating material he puts on the back of the panel to further eat up and laminate ? Thanks in advance

  23. scientificallygreene says:

Hey, check out my website at ScientificallyGreener(Dot) com and get all the new and improved Equipments to build or buy your own solar panels and wind energy turbine systems ScientificallyGreener(Dot) com is a website that sells the most modern environmental products available

  24. Aslapacrosstheface says:

Well, new solar cells are 30-40% efficient, and the sun delivers 1400 watts/ m2 so… 200 watts?

  25. Aslapacrosstheface says:

6 per day huh? that’s not much… they need to automate that process so more can be built. I’d buy a bunch to power our house if the price came down.
