Wait but if it rained wouldnt everything be wet and keep anything from catching fire.
How do you invent such things?
Welcome back… Where you been the last few weeks? I’ve been bored silly with no new GreenPowerScience videos to watch!
awesome!
Its to expensive :/
@stopcraponutube
Thank you.
Working and working on new stuff. I have some PV videos on the way and 2 other cheap collector ideas.
@HackSilent – Not directly under the plastic on the ground where the sun would be concentrated, at least probably not. Not unless the rain was coming down at a 45 degree angle.
You two should be on the Discovery Channel, I hope the people running it are thinking about making an offer soon!
@HackSilent It wouldn’t be wet underneath the table, because all of the rain would have been caught on the plastic… nes pas?
@onmyown12 He didn’t. As early as 700 BC, the Assyrians used polished crystal to magnify objects. Ancient Egypt and Babylon used similar objects and the ancient Romans and Greeks filled glass spheres with water for the same purpose. Seneca, the Roman philosopher, wrote about filling transparent vessels with water in order to magnify objects seen through them.
wow nice one but your water is not clear enough :That would be more effective
what about a 5 or 10 gallon aquarium?? think that would work??
very nice and smart idea
thin lexan tank filled with water might work toO..
Try craft resin and let me know how it works.
Try craft resin instead of water you may need to to thicker plastic for it will get hot as it hardens and let me know how it works.
Dan, is there any practical application for this? Can a lens like that be used for PV? or any other renewable energy?
I can see birds taking a bath in you solar cooker lens.
Cool deal
dear dan what you discovered is actually written and discussed in the sacred jewish talmud reffering to the lighting of fire on a holy day. the scholars talk about ways of lighting fire. one by rubbing stones one by sticks one by mixing certain kinds of earth and one by water.. the way to light fire by water is exactly the way you showed only they used glass instead of plastic (i just learned it this saturday and i got your video in my email right after.. are you a prophet or what !?)
